Bathurst and Mt Panorama
Bathurst is the oldest inland city in Australia. Governor Lachlan Macquarie proclaimed it a settlement on the 7th of May 1815. As a result of its long history, it is a city with many beautiful historic buildings. From the public building such as the Barnett courthouse, built around 1880, or Government House (circa 1820), the churches and colleges, to the National Trust property, Miss Traill's House, the architecture shows the many styles throughout the decades. Bathurst is, however, not limited to just its history.

Bathurst is a modern city and major regional centre. It is known as a centre of excellence for education, and boasts four private schools, numerous government schools and a university and a TAFE college (Technical and Further Education).

The region enjoys mild summers, pleasant spring weather, beautiful autumns and brisk winters with an occasional snow fall.

As well as two main shopping malls, Bathurst is the district command centre for the NSW Police Service, and has two hospitals, plus many private health facilities.

During your stay At Bathurst Sheep & Cattle Drome, take a tour around the world famous Mt Panorama motor racing circuit, which is open to the public every day except race days. And for motoring enthusiasts, visit the National Museum of Motor Racing, near Pit Straight on the circuit.
